BURNING SPICE CHARACTER ANALYSIS

YES KINGS AND QUEENS I PROMISED ITD BE DONE WITHIN 3 DAYS AND I DELIVERED!!!

Burning spice cookie, the Herald of Change, or now known as The Great Destroyer, bends history to his will, once a praised hero by many for his feats of protecting and nurturing societies into blossoming places for growth and change. Now all that is left of this hero is ruins and ash left by the countless kingdoms, villages, homes, etc. Burning Spice cookie has destroyed. Yet no matter how many things, areas, people he destroys there is still an empty hole left in his heart, his purpose is incomplete, he hasn’t changed anything over the eons he has been alive still every cookie he faces crumbles at his feet begging for mercy. So, while Burning Spice is quite the brute, he still feels a deep regret that he's failed his people, he does not live up to his title or purpose which was god given from the witches themselves. Which while unconfirmed, people speculate that the 5 Virtues (SMC, BC, SS, ESC, MF), where baked out straight of the oven with one objective, to rule the cookie kind which could've contributed to the beasts corruption, unlike the ancients who were able to develop normally and explode and understand the world on their own accord and morals as seen in the story. The Virtues had no time to grow and understand the world and how it and life plays out, which could've helped lead them all into corruption.

So Burning Spice's mindset overall is that life is just a cycle of birth, growth, and then wither and he does have good reason to think this, he's been alive for what we could assume is eons and has over and over planted the seed for a new civilization, watched it grow so dearly, just to see it cease to exist. We also see through his dialogue with Nutmeg Tiger cookie that this affects him and while he only mentions it being his first kingdom he misses, you can still imagine the immense grief he went through the first time watching his first kingdom fall. But over time, he was probably numbed to this pain and there was where the seed of destruction was planted within him. So as time passed on and his kingdoms rose and fell, he slowly began to think "What's the purpose of all this? All my efforts into fostering life all end the same way no matter what I do." Therefore tired from this revelation, Burning Spice turned to yearn for a different type of change, destruction. So ultimately Burning Spice fell to corruption burdened by the harsh reality of life and death, and how no matter how hard you fight, maybe it's better to just accept and give up trying to stop it.

And when we start to look at Burning Spices mannerisms about Golden Cheese after he was defeated by her, it shows that a new light has shone upon Burning spice as he relishes the fact he was defeated, finally he has a worthy opponent. After eons of waiting, being bored, Burning Spice has at last seen the change he so wished for in the world, he lost. This is such an entertaining and new experience for him and maybe if Golden Cheese is strong enough against him, he'll be freed from the suffering of immortality and watching everything he finds cherished, crumble to dust in his hands, over and over until there's no point in keeping anyone close to him. So Golden Cheese may be Burning Spice's freedom from this punishment handed down onto him.

Considering all this, you can see that Burning Spices motives go way more deeper than 'he was just bored' because in his character you see themes of him craving for a change in history which could be understood as him wanting to be defeated/die. He desires for this because it would be a fascinating turn of events as he has not yet faced defeat and that is why he is so intrigued by Golden Cheese as seen in the story, she does defeat him. He garnered these ideas from his time spent honoured as 'The Herald of Change' and what he witnessed was the harsh truth about life, nothing lasts forever, everything grows, thrives and then meets the same fate of death so truly what is the point of fostering this growth if given a few years time, it will cease to exist? This idea is what led Burning Spice into his corruption as The Great Destroyer.
